Stock Prep and Machining of Rocket Nosecone Mold

Since both mold halves were close to the capacity of our machine, the initial stock prep was completed with a flycutter on a manual machine. Squaring the ends and faces of the material. From that point the material was indicated into the CNC mill, the pockets for alignment pins and mold cavity were machined, then the mold was hand polished.

One is completely finished, the other needs to be polished and flycut, for making carbon fiber class K rocket nosecones.
